Leesburg VA, February 2004 - Dy 4 Systems (Dy 4), a wholly owned subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW;CW.B), announced that BAE Systems Information & Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS) has selected Dy 4 to develop a high-performance rugged computing module for use on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
BAE Systems will employ Dy 4's custom engineering services to develop a custom form-factor module that is derived from existing COTS technology. The new module will be based on Dy 4's CHAMP-AV II Quad PowerPC 7410 digital signal processor, with integrated StarFabric switched interconnect technology. BAE Systems has adopted StarFabric as the interconnect solution for the F-35 line of Electronic Warfare Systems.
Dy 4 Systems has expanded the capabilities of its Leesburg, Virginia, facility in order to manage programs such as the F-35 and provide full compliance with the relevant US International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR).
"This award further demonstrates the value of rugged COTS technology," said Tom Quinly, president of Dy 4 Systems. "We're excited to see our high-density computing technology selected for this important program." Dy 4 and BAE Systems are working with software technology partners Green Hills Software and Real-Time Innovations (RTI) on this project. Green Hills
Software will supply their secure INTEGRITY real-time operating system and RTI is providing their NDDS publish-subscribe middleware product.
