Ottawa ON Canada, December 2002 - Tundra
Semiconductor Corporation, a leader
in System Interconnect, has announced the promotion of Joe Connelly
to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In his new role he will be
responsible for leading the Company's sales, marketing and product
management teams worldwide.
"Tundra has formed partnerships with some of the world's largest semiconductor companies and sells to the world's largest communications and storage companies," said Jim Roche, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tundra. "We need a world-class executive with extensive industry contacts and strong leadership skills running our sales and marketing team. Joe is that executive. I have complete confidence in his abilities."
"Tundra is ideally positioned to meet the system interconnect needs of our customers. We have a strong portfolio of existing switch fabric and bridging products and are developing exciting next-generation technology," said Connelly. "Meanwhile, our customers increasingly are outsourcing system interconnect to experts like us. We estimate that less than 10% of the system interconnect market is currently outsourced."
Commenting on the promotion, Joe Connelly said, "I'm particularly proud to be leading this team at Tundra. We have some of the industry's top experts in the sales and marketing organization and I am confident that we will continue to excel in meeting our customers' needs."
Mr. Connelly moves from the Vice President of Sales. He joined Tundra in October 2000 as Director of Sales, and was promoted to the Vice President position in February 2001. Prior to Tundra, he held a number of senior business and marketing management positions at Microchip Technology, Inc, and Motorola Corporation, where he was instrumental in building and leading highly effective sales and marketing teams in the U.K., Hong Kong and China.
