The MATRIX VMEbus PRIMER's stated purpose is to, "Provide an overview of the VMEbus architecture." Contained in the primer are one-page and two-page discussions of:

Why is VMEbus Important to You?
What is VMEbus?
Benefits of VMEbus
Where VMEbus is Used Now
VMEbus Compared to Other Buses
Basics of the Technology
Appendix A- Technical Overview
Appendix B- Glossary of VMEbus Terms

In deciding to make this primer available on the Internet, Lisa Williams, Marketing Communications Manager says, "Soon after we first published our MATRIX VMEbus Primer in 1994, we began to receive compliments on its ease-of-reading and convenience. In planning our Internet website, it just seemed natural for us to make this valuable tool available to the larger audience of designers, integrators and project planners worldwide on the Internet".
