Cyclone Microsystems has introduced the CVME965, a new Single Board Computer optimized for intelligent l/O, communications and data acquisition applications. The CVME965 features a unique dual memory architecture which eliminates bottlenecking or processor starve out common to high speed, embedded I/O systems. This architecture allocates a private memory for the processor and a global or packet memory for the I/O devices and processor to share. In addition, the CVME965 features the i960HD66® Superscalar RISC microprocessor and two Squall II Module positions for intensive I/O operations. As a result, Cyclone's CVME965 provides increased throughput and optimum performance for high speed real time/embedded systems. The i960HD microprocessor performs context switching and interrupt servicing with very low latency and features register stack, scratch pad memory and instruction cache to increase performance and reduce the processor's need for the shared memory. The CVME965's private memory is configured of hyper page mode (EDO) DRAM, allowing burst accesses such as instruction fetches and stack operations to access data on every clock cycle. Accesses to the private memory can proceed at a sustained rate of 66 Mbytes/second. Show a Photo. For more information on the CVME965 or other Cyclone products, please contact Peter H. Zackin, Vice President of Sales at 203 786-5536, info@cyclone.com or http://www.cyclone.com.

DY 4 Systems, is releasing its most sophisticated real time signal processing module to date. The Quad 'C40-based DSP card permits a wide variety of interface options to be implemented. The board, designated: model SVME/DMV-443 Quad 320C40 is fashioned after DY 4's proven predecessor, the SVME/DMV-442, the '443 is a real-time signal processing module. An important feature of this card is its programmable front-end which allows it to directly adapt to many sensor interfaces. This enhancement can eliminate costly and inconvenient custom interface boards that would otherwise be needed to translate sensor data for the DSP input. The '443 is designed first and foremost for performance. The programmable interface may be used to perform hardware pre-processing to off-load the DSP's. The board provides 50 MHz operation, zero wait-state memory, the industry's fastest external comm port implementation, and sustained VME performance of better than 40MB/s. Show a Photo.

Heurikon Corp., announces PM/VSB, the first in a family of PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) modules. The IEEE 1386.1-compatible, single-width module provides a 32-bit link between a VMEbus baseboard's PMC interface and the VSB bus. The module makes VSB signals externally available via the VMEbus P2 connector. PM/VSB's VSB master interface complies with IEC 822 and acts as a Slot 0 serial arbiter. The interface supports a bandwidth of 10 Mbyte/sec for single-cycle read operations and 15 Mbyte/sec for write and DMA read operations. All VSB configuration registers appear in PCI configuration space and can be mirrored in PCI I/O space. All VSB signals are routed to the baseboard's P2 connector via the PMC J4 connector. A VMEbus CPU board with an attached PM/VSB module occupies a single VMEbus slot. For more information, contact Heurikon Corporation, 8310 Excelsior Dr, Madison, WI 53717-1938. MEN Mikro Elektronik GmbH announces the A4N VMEbus double Eurocard which is equally suited for application as an intelligent peripheral controller, single-master CPU and stand-alone CPU in the low-cost range. Its strengths are fast data acquisition and preprocessing of periphery signals, relieving the load on the VMEbus. The A4N has 3 M-Module slots of its own, and has direct control of 4 additional M-Module slots on an extension board with a 64-pin connector. The 20-MHz version of the MC68332 (CPU32) and 2 Mbytes of "genuine" dual-ported DRAM (0 wait states) turn the A4N more powerful than its predecessor A4. Supported by an internal RISC CPU, the periphery functions of the 68332 are used for integration of M-Modules. The TPU (Time Processor Unit) performs both simple and complex timing tasks, making it the latest advance in timer systems. Viewed as a special-purpose microcomputer (RISC CPU), this processor performs two operations, match and capture, on one operand: TIME. This advanced TPU offers high-resolution timing and multiple time function capability in the timer channels. Show a Photo.
The B4 VMEbus single Eurocard has the same functionality as the A4N. It offers one M-Module slot for I/O extensions and needs only one slot on the VMEbus. For more information, contact MEN at: +9 11/99 33 5-0.

SKY Computers, Inc. introduces the SKYburst 160 parallel I/O interface, the industry's fastest implementation of the Front Panel Data Port (FPDP) 32-bit parallel I/O standard. The peak rate of 160 MB/sec is achievable because the SKYburst 160 daughtercard connects to the SKYbolt II motherboard via a 320 MB/sec SKYchannel Packet Bus interface. Unlike competitive products, this motherboard connection does not create a throughput bottleneck, and the daughtercard form factor allows the SKYburst 160 to be added to the SKYbolt II multiprocessing accelerator without sacrificing compute processors. Show a Photo. Complete SKY information is available at SKY's world wide web page: http://www.sky.com
SKY Computers, Inc. has introduced its new heterogeneous multiprocessor, the SKYbolt® II 9U SKYchannel accelerator. Architectured with1.28 GFLOPS of multiprocessing performance, the SKYchannel 320 MB/sec packet bus, VME64, and the built-in SKYburst 160 FPDP I/O interface, the SKYbolt II 9U is the only
accelerator that provides I/O performance to match compute performance. The SKYbolt II 9U utilizes motherboards in combination with I/O and compute daughtercards to allow users to configure solutions with the highest combination of performance and throughput for their specific application. The SKYbolt II 9U can be configured with up to four of SKY's four-processor Shamrock n daughtercards, to provide 1.28 GFLOPS processing and 320 MB/sec interprocessor communication. Future generations of daughtercards, using faster processors, can easily be plugged onto the motherboard. Software developed on the SKYbolt I will run unmodified on the SKYbolt II and future higher performance daughtercards, guaranteeing the customer's valuable software investment and continued refreshing of technology.
