Call VSO meeting to order Introductions, Agenda Review Announcements, Minutes Approval	Elwood Parsons, VSO Chair	Elwood called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM and asked members to introduce themselves. After introductions the minutes of the July meeting were approved as written.
IP Issues - Patent Policy Review - Call for Patent Disclosures	John Rynearson, VITA	John noted that attendees can download meeting materials at: http://www.vita.com/vso/vso200609/ Articles of interest are in the FYI folder. Member contact info, eligible voters list, reservation information for next meeting are in the admin folder. Presentations are in the presentation folder. John reviewed patents in standards, the ANSI standards policy, and the VSO early disclosure policy. See presentation. John asked for patent disclosures. No patents were disclosed.
Standards Report	John Rynearson, Tech Dir VITA	John reviewed current ANSI standards activities. See presentation. John reviewed the results of the ANSI VITA Procedures. See presentation. John will revise the ANSI VITA Procedures and conduct a 30 day ballot. Revised procedures will be submitted to ANSI re: audit issues before the end of November.
VITA Report - Ex Ante	Ray Alderman, Exec Dir, VITA	Ray covered a number of issues - hex and octagonal sided boards. See http://www.tenthdimension.com. Bus&Board is scheduled for January 15&16, 2007. Contact Ray for booth space. Bus&Board will have a new focus. Ray will provide more details soon. Ray discussed the work he has been doing on patents and developing ex-ante procedures with the DOJ. Procedures will be reviewed at the November VSO meeting and members will be asked to vote on procedures at the January VSO meeting.

VITA 17.2, 10 Gbit Serial FPDP Report	Ralph Barrera, Curtiss-Wright	Ralph reported on the current status of VITA 17.2. Teleconferences have been held. New draft has been released. Two new speeds have been added. See presentation.
VITA 41.6, VXS Control Plane	Michael Bonato, DRS-SS	Michael Bonato reported on the status of VITA 41.6. See presentation.
VITA 41.7, Processor Mesh	Michael Munroe, Elma Bustronic	Michael Munroe reported on the status of VITA 41.7. See presentation.
VITA 42 Report and Connector Issues Discussion	Andy Reddig, TEK Micro David Givens, Samtec	Andy submitted the following presentation to summarize the current state of VITA 42 activities. Dave discussed the issues regarding RoHS connector on VITA 42.0. See presentation. Work on developing 12 mm interposer for additional spacing.

VITA 51, Reliability Prediction	Charles Falardeau, Curtis-Wright	Lori Bechtold reported on VITA 51 for Charles Falardeau. See presentation. Group is reviewing how to coordinate effort with other groups working on the same issue. The group is meeting via telecon every two weeks.
VITA 52, Lead Free	Lori Bechtold, Boeing	Lori Bechtold reported on VITA 52. This working group is working on RoHS issues with LEAP. See presentation.
VITA 53, Market Surveillance	Stephen Cecil, CRANE	Steve Cecil reported on VITA 53. See presentation. VITA 53 is a study group and needs one more sponsor to become a working group. Contact Steve if you would like to sponsor this activity.

Connector Review	Professor Dave Steinberg, P.E.	Dr. Steinberg has over 40 years of experience in dealing with connectors and electronics systems in harsh environments. See presentation.
