    : The VITA 65.x working group has completed their work on the revised drafts to ANSI/VITA 65.0-2017 and ANSI/VITA 65.1-2017.

    VITA 65.0, OpenVPX System Standard

    Abstract: The OpenVPX System Standard was created to bring versatile system architectural solutions to the VPX market. Based on the extremely flexible VPX family of standards, the OpenVPX standard uses module mechanical, connectors, thermal, communications protocols, utility, and power definitions provided by specific VPX standards and then describes a series of standard profiles that define slots, backplanes, modules, and Standard Development Chassis.

    VITA 65.1, OpenVPX System Standard - Profile Tables

    Abstract: This standard documents variations of Slot, Backplane, and Modules Profiles. As part of the Slot Profile Description, there are also some Connector Modules defined. This document is primarily tables which are referenced by VITA 65.0.

    This ballot is open to both VITA members and non-members alike. You must register if you wish to participate in the ballots. Non-members should contact Jing Kwok, VITA Technical Director, for login credentials.

    Voter registration for ANSI level balloting of the VITA 67.2, Coaxial Interconnect on VPX, 8 Position SMPM Configuration Standard is now open.

    Abstract: The objective of this standard is to detail the configuration and interconnect within the structure of VITA 67.0 enabling a VITA 46 interface containing multi-position blind mate analog connectors with up to 8 SMPM contacts.

    Description: The VITA 67.2 working group has completed the draft and has voted to take the draft through to the ANSI process to be recognized as an ANSI standard. This is a revision to the previously approved standard ANSI/VITA 67.2-2012.

VITA 47.1 addresses requirements common across the VITA47 group of standards.

    VITA 47.2, Plug-In Module Standard for Environments, Design and Construction, Safety, and Quality  Dedicated Service

    Abstract: The VITA 47 group of standards defines environmental, design and construction, safety, and quality requirements for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Plug-In Modules intended for ground and aerospace applications. VITA 47.2 address requirements specific to dedicated service electronic products.

    VITA 47.3, Plug-In Module Standard for Environments, Design and Construction, Safety, and Quality – High Performance

    Abstract: The VITA 47 group of standards defines environmental, design and construction, safety, and quality requirements for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Plug-In Modules intended for ground and aerospace applications. VITA 47.3 address requirements specific to high performance electronic products.

    Abstract: This standard defines the colors, behaviors, placement, and labeling of service and status indicator lamps for boards, field replaceable units, and enclosures.

    Description: The VITA 40 working group has completed the draft and has voted to take the draft through to the ANSI process to be recognized as an ANSI standard. This was a previously withdrawn standard ANSI/VITA 40-2003 (W2013) that is now being revived.

    VITA 86, High Voltage Input Sealed Connector Power Supply (new Standard)

    Abstract: This standard defines an environmentally sealed connector pair which is compatible with the backplane footprint as defined in VITA 62.0 for 3U power supplies operating in harsh environments operating off of a high voltage input.

    Description: The VITA 86 working group has completed the draft and has voted to take the draft through to the ANSI process to be recognized as a new ANSI standard.

    ANSI function: ANSI facilitates the development of American National Standards (ANS) by accrediting the procedures of VITA, whose groups work cooperatively to develop voluntary national consensus standards. Accreditation by ANSI signifies that the procedures used by VITA in connection with the development of American National Standards meet the Institute’s essential requirements for openness, balance, consensus and due process.

    Policy: Potential balloters will be asked to specify one of the following interest categories when registering for a ballot.

    • Producer – produces the end result of the standard or supplies components used in the standard.
    • User – uses the end result of the standard.
    • Government/Military – user or producer of the standard in government or military setting.
    • Research – user or producer of the standard in a research setting.
    • General Interest – neither a user nor producer.

    The affiliation and interest category of each member of the balloting body shall be made available to interested parties upon request.

    A balloter who has indicated a desire to be on the standards development committee’s list for a particular category or categories of standards shall receive the proposed standard(s), electronic ballot(s), and all appropriate information.

    • VITA 47.1, Common Requirements for Environments, Design and Construction, Safety, and Quality for VITA 47 Plug-In Modules Dot Standard (new Standard)

    Abstract: This standard defines the common Environments, Design and Construction, Safety, and Quality for Plug-In Module requirements common across VITA 47.1, VITA 47.2, and VITA 47.3. VITA 47.2 and VITA 47.3 contain the unique requirements aligned with the definitions of IPC J-STD-001. Class 2 and 3 respectively.

    • VITA 47.2, Class 2 Requirements for Environments, Design and Construction, Safety, and Quality for VITA 47 Plug-in Modules Dot Standards (new Standard)
