Closing Date: Thu, Sep 3 2020 11:59 pm PDT

Description: Under ANSI rules every 5 years an approved standard must be reaffirmed, revised, or withdrawn. There have been no requests for revision or errata for these the standards in question, hence it is recommended that it be put forth for reaffirmation.

Voter registration for voting for ANSI recognition of the following standard(s) for Reaffirmation process is now open:

Title: ANSI/VITA 49.0-2015, VITA Radio Transport (VRT) Standard

Abstract: The VITA Radio Transport (VRT) standard defines a transport-layer protocol designed to promote interoperability between RF (radio frequency) receivers and signal processing equipment in a wide range of applications. These include spectral monitoring, communications, radar, and others. In support of this variety of applications, the VRT protocol provides a variety of formatting options that allow the transport layer to be optimized for each application. VRT also enables high-precision timestamping to provide time synchronization between multiple receiver channels.

Title: ANSI/VITA 49.1-2015, VITA Radio Link Layer Standard

Abstract: This document describes an open standard for an optional encapsulation protocol for VITA-49.0 (VRT) packets.

Title: ANSI/VITA 49A-2015, Spectrum Survey Interoperability Specification

Abstract: This document specifies an interoperability specification that is applicable to spectrum-survey applications. It is intended to foster high-throughput and adaptable processing in a large-scale environment. It specifically considers the needs of devices based around 32-/64-bit general-purpose processors (GPP) and FPGAs that utilize Internet Protocol (IP) as the underlying transport between processing devices.

This ballot is open to both VITA members and non-members alike. You must register if you wish to participate in the ballots. Non-members should contact Jing Kwok, VITA Technical Director, for login credentials.

The roster will be vetted to ensure it meets balance, lack of dominance and openness rules. Following which a formal ballot will be sent to the registrants for voting.

Please register ONLY IF you intend to vote.
